looking for an outstanding student to pursue a PhD in the Department, starting in October 2006. The position is fully funded (University fees and stipend). The broad area of research is atomistic simulation, with a specific focus on multiscale materials modelling and hybrid schemes (QM/MM). Previous experience with quantum mechanical or classical atomistic simulation in the general area of condensed matter physics, chemistry or biochemistry is a strong advantage. Good programming skills are essential. The successful applicant will be supervised jointly by Prof. Payne and Dr. Gabor Csanyi.
