Continuum Physics and Engineering Applications
2-10 June, 2007, Rackeve (Budapest), Hungary

http://cpea07.mm.bme.hu

CPEA is a 4 day conference followed by a 5 day school on continuum
mechanics and engineering applications. The AIM is to give a
comprehensive introduction and outlook to the most important directions
of modern continuum physics including the theoretical foundations and
their applications. This will be an additional possibility to discuss
current research activities, to get more acquainted with one another,
and to find the areas of possible collaboration (to find a tutor or/and
a student) in future. The conference and the school are connected events
that can be attended separately.

The scientific programme of the CONFERENCE will consists of invited
lectures and contributions of researches of continuum physics including
theory, experiments and computes simulations chosen by the International
Organizing Committee. Some lectures (chosen by IOC) of the conference
will be explained in more detail at the school. There is a certain
probability to publish the texts of the talks later in the Proceedings
of the Estonian Academy of Sciences after a usual refereeing procedure.

The scientific programme of the SCHOOL includes lectures on the
different theories of continuum physics in general and, in particular,
lectures on extended thermodynamics, multifield theories, gradient
models, etc. including their applications (e.g. in damage mechanics,
plasticity, rheology, heat conduction and thermohygro-mechanics). The
morning lectures will be followed by afternoon exercises to work on the
studied material. You may ask everything that you did not understand at
the conference. Written lecture notes will be prepared.

THE PLACE chosen for the Conference is Rackeve, about 30 km down from
Budapest on the shore of the Danube river. The accommodation, meals and
lectures are planned in the rebuilt Savoya Palace.

The official language of the School and the Conference will be English.

SOCIAL PROGRAMMES will be organized. The planned programme consists of
Budapest and Szentendre sightseeing, a "Puszta" visit, the visit of a
medieval church and a farmer market, a concert on classic music,
folklore programme on the welcome banquet.

The tentative FEEs are:
Conference: 250 Euro + 250 Euro (registration + accommodation)
Course: 300 Euro + 300 Euro
Conf.+Course: 500 Euro + 500 Euro
