        The deadline for the submission of abstracts of papers asking for
contributed oral presentations, 1 March 2004, is approaching rapidly. We
would be very grateful, therefore, if you could submit your abstracts
online on the website of STATPHYS 22

        http://www.physics.iisc.ernet.in/statphys22/

        To avoid a last-minute rush, which can, in the worst of cases, 
overload a website tremendously, we would like you to submit your abstract 
as soon as possible.
 
        The website of STATPHYS 22 is being updated regularly. You can
download the latest poster for this conference from this website. The
names of the Boltzmann Awardees (2004), plenary speakers, and the
confirmed invited speakers at STATPHYS 22 have been put up on this
website. Information about online submission of abstracts for contributed
oral and poster presentations is available on this website.

        The deadlines for STATPHYS 22 are given below:

 (1)    Receipt of abstracts of papers asking for oral presentations: 
        1 March 2004.

 (2)    Receipt of abstracts of papers asking for poster presentations: 
        20 March 2004.
 
 (3)    Date by which organizers will inform participants of the
        acceptance of their abstracts (oral or poster):
        31 March 2004.

 (4)    Early registration (US $350): 
        15 April 2004.
        
        (Registration after this date will require US $400; for
        information about partial waivers please consult the 
        website and then send an e-mail message to me at

        Online registration is in place;  please follow the registration
links on the website of STATPHYS 22; this contains information about
hotels, pre- and post-conference tours, flight details, etc. Our
conference managers (TCI) can help with accommodation, flight bookings,
and tours; their e-mail and mail addresses are given under the
registration link on the website of STATPHYS 22.

        Please forgive me if, over the next few days, you get this message
more than once (since your name might be on more than one mailing list).
We would also be very grateful if you could inform other colleagues, who
might be interested, about STATPHYS 22.

        We hope all of you will be able to participate in STATPHYS 22. If, 
for some reason, you are unable to do so but would like a copy of 
the Proceedings of STATPHYS 22, please look under Proceedings on the 
website for a special prepublication price from the publishers. 
Registered participants will, of course, get a copy of these Proceedings 
as soon as they are published; their cost is included in the registration 
fee.
