szemináriumára
Elõadók: Michael Weber (Astrophysikalisches Institut Potsdam)
Cim: "Robotic Telescopes & the evolution of stellar surface structures"
Kivonat:
Many phenomena of stellar and solar activity can only be discovered by
monitoring the target for timespans longer than the typical activity-cycle
period (11 or 22 years in the case of the Sun).
Several robotic telescopes (both imaging and spectroscopic) are becoming
available these days. These facilities are perfectly suitable for
monitoring stellar surface structures where classical proposal-based
observing fails.
I will give an overview of current and future instrument projects and
their suitability for starspot mapping. Then, after a brief description of
the Doppler imaging technique used for starspot mapping, some examples of
previous long-term observations are given as a preview of what to expect
from robotic telescopes.
