Az elõadás tartalma:
Problems arising in the studies of granular materials can be well
posed and formulated as a subject of theoretical physics, however
conventional statistical mechanics of thermal systems is
inadequate to handle what amounts to the dissipative mechanics of
disordered packings of hard-core or "soft" particles, static or
driven by external forces. A novel approach which employs
statistical-mechanical concepts is offered for the description of
such systems. We discuss recent experiments and computer
simulations which offer a new insight into the formulation of
these concepts and applications of the mathematical apparatus. We
also argue that certain phenomena in traditional soft condensed
matter systems such as emulsions, colloids and polymer glasses
might have a rather similar statistical physics to that of
granular media.
