Dear Tamas,

My thanks for your concern for the death of Nandor Balazs.

The facts are that he died at home peacefully last Friday night/
Saturday morning (15/16 August).  He had several health problems
of late; several relatively major strokes and heart related issues.
He was suffering from sciatica and that gave him considerable back
pain, but of course this was not life-threatening.   He had continued
to be quite active when he could, and continued his advising
activities at Los Alamos National Laboratory.

There was a very private cremation and burial service last week for
the family.  Nandor's wife Leslie and daughter Antonia are inclined
to arrange a memorial service in early October but plans are not
firm as yet.
