     Dear colleagues,

         With a great sorrow we announce that our longtime
     Head of the Heavy Ion Laboratory, Professor Nikola Cindro,
     has passed away on Sunday 25-th of March 2001 at age of 70.
         The funeral services will be held on Wednesday 28-th
     of March 2001 at cemetery Lovrinac in Split.
