Subject: GRID temaju konferencia Magyarorszagon
Kedves Kollega!
A Grid rendszerek az informatika uj horizontjat nyitottak meg. Ehhez
kapcsolodik egy olyan lehetoseg, amit feltetlenul erdemes kihasznalni:
2000 szeptember 10-13 kozott Balatonfureden rendezzuk meg a EuroPVM/MPI
konferenciat az immar hagyomanyos Osztrak-Magyar DAPSYS (Distributed and
Parallel Systems) workshoppal kozosen. Ez az esemeny nem egyszeruen egy a
sok parhuzamos es elosztott rendszerekkel foglalkozo konferenciak kozul.
A EuroPVM/MPI konferencia jellegzetessege, hogy a napjainkban meghatarozo
Grid es klaszter computing tema legnevesebb kutatoi meghivott eloadokent
mindig megjelennek ezeken a konferenciakon es igy a magyar kutatok es
potencialis alkalmazok elso kezbol kaphatnak majd informaciot a legujabb
kutatasi iranyokrol es azok alkalmazasi lehetosegeirol. Az iden
megrendezendo konferencia meghivott eloadoi kozott olyan nemzetkozileg
kiemelkedo kutatok szerepelnek, mint Jack Dongarra (Univ. of Tennessee) a
PVM s NetSolve rendszer megalkotoja, Vaidy Sunderam (Emory Univ.) a PVM
kommunikacios rendszer es az IceT metaszamitasi rendszer megalkotoja, Al
Geist (Oak Ridge National Lab), William Grop (Argonne National Lab) es
Evan Lusk (Argonne National Lab) az MPI letrehozoi es tovabbfejlesztoi,
Thomas Sterling (Caltech Univ.) a Beowulf klaszter koncepcio atyja, Carl
Kesselman (Univ. of Southern California) a Globus Grid rendszer
legismertebb kutatoja es a "The GRID" konyv tarsszerkesztoje, Miron Livny
(Univ. of Wisconsin) a Condor batch alapu Grid rendszer megalkotoja,
Geoffrey Fox (Syracuse Univ.) a Java alapu Grid rendszer legismertebb
kutatoja. Amerikai kutatok ilyen rangos tarsasagaval talalkozni es eszmet
cserelni egyedulallo lehetoseg a magyar kutatok, oktatok es ipari
szakemberek szamara, ezert a reszvetelt, ill. a segitsegedet kerem, hogy
minel tobb magyar szakember ertesuljon errol a lehetosegrol.

Balatonfured, Lake Balaton, Hungary
September 10th-13th, 2000
PAPER SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 3 March, 2000
The 3rd Austrian-Hungarian Workshop on Distributed and Parallel Systems
(DAPSYS'2000) will be organized jointly with the 7th EuroPVM/MPI
conference at the Lake Balaton in Hungary. Participants of the two events
will share invited talks, tutorials and social events. Contributed
paper presentations will go on in separate tracks in parallel.
While EuroPVM/MPI is dedicated to the latest developments of PVM and
MPI, DAPSYS is expected to be a major event to discuss general
aspects of distributed and parallel systems. In this way the two events
are complement to each other and participants of the DAPSYS'2000 workshop
can benefit from the joint organization of the two events.
Selected papers of DAPSYS'96 (held in Miskolc) have been published in a
special issue (Vol. 22, No. 3. 1997 February) of Parallel Computing. Best
papers of DAPSYS'98 (Budapest) were also published in Future Generation
Computer Systems (to appear in 2000). The proceedings of DAPSYS'2000 will
be published by Kluwer and selected papers will be included in a special
issue of New Generation Computing.
SCOPE:
DAPSYS'2000 is expected to be a major event for vendors, researchers and
teachers to consider present and future topics in distributed and parallel
systems. Papers presenting original research, educational methods, new
concepts, and results of international projects are being sought. Papers
describing clusters, cluster programming, metacomputing and related fields
are especially welcome. Typical, but not exclusive, topics include:
Operating systems Web Computing
Languages Metacomputing
